Hurricane Dean
The Cayman Islands were hit by Hurricane Dean in 2007. It didn’t see the worst part of the storm, though, which headed towards Mexico’s coast. Many tourists fled the coast for safety inland. It was the most intense and strongest hurricane of the tropical storm season of 2007. It caused $1.66 billion in damage, with winds sustained at 175 mph.
