The Caminito del Ray is a trail that’s over 100 years old and is one of the most treacherous hikes in Europe, if not in the entire world. The narrow platforms make it notorious for injuries and catastophies, in addition to the lack of handrails and fences while at high altitude. It’s previously earned the label as “the most dangerous hiking trail in the world.” It’s located in Spain and is over seven kilometers long. It’s been renovated in recent years, and the half-crumbled trail was replaced with platforms. Nowadays, you adrenaline junkies might not find this hike dangerous enough! (Scandinavian Traveler).

It’s extremely steep, and since 1999, at least three people have died on the trail, one of them including death by an avalanche. It’s also known as being one of the toughest and most demanding hikes in the Himalayas, with elevations that reach up to 4,500 meters. It takes almost one month to complete, and the highest point of the trail reaches up to 5,345 meters. Trekkers are prone to getting altitude sickness and suffering from other various injuries. Fansipan Mountain is notorious for its danger. In 2016, 22-year-old Adrian Webb was found dead on the mountain, at 2,800 meters, only a few hundred meters below the peak.
