Bright Angel
In Arizona, Bright Angel is one of the most treacherous, yet beautiful hikes you’ll ever do. It’s 18-miles long and is one of the longest hikes in the Grand Canyon. What makes it so treacherous is that there are more than 200 heat related rescues every single year, in addition to many other rescues, like dehydration and getting lost. Trekkers seem to be especially prone to this on this hike. It’s recommended that trekkers take two days to do the full hike, otherwise you’re putting yourself at risk for injury and even death. There are rest houses along the way that make it ideal for a two-day adventure. Remember to bring tons of water, food, and electrolytes with you if you choose to embark on this difficult, yet rewarding, journey (Only In Your State).
